Womens Reproductive Health and other issues related to women's health were the subjects of more than 24 research studies that were presented at the 55th annual meeting of the Society for Gynecological Investigation (SGI), which was held in San Diego this past March. Among the events held at this meeting were an awards ceremony honoring Dr. James Roberts for his work studying preclampsia, one of the most dangerous aspects of womens reproductive health. Other womens reproductive health issues that were discussed at the meeting included a study of doctors' conversational habits with pregnant women. It was announced that doctors were more comfortable discussing the dangers of smoking with pregnant women than they were talking about the dangers of drugs and alcohol. Among the other topics related to womens reproductive health was one paper entitled, Health Services Research in Women’s Health: The Science of Caring for Patients. The meeting was attended by hundreds of womens health specialist doctors from all over the U.S. and a broad spectrum of topics related to womens reproductive health were considered in various seminars and forums. |
