Althought I'm a guy, my girlfriend is a woman and that makes me indeniably in touch with womens reproductive health. You see, as a guy, although we aren't specialists - we bear the brunt of things like PMS or yeast infections or UTIs because we are your first line of support. So, here are some things I've learned for maintaining womens reproductive health over the years my girlfriend and I have been dating and running into UTIs.
Womens Reproductive Health - a Look at UTIs
Most people think that drinking cranberry juice helps because it turns your urine acidic. This actually is not true. Viruses and bacteria are actually really alive in acidic environments, so you want to do the opposite - make your urine alkaline. In fact, there are many books and studies correlating body alkalinity to fewer infections and disease. Most perceived acidic things like citrus fruits or cranberries have the reverse effect in the body. So, eat plenty of fruits and veggies and drink lots of water. Also - don't hold your pee for long periods of time, it gives microbes time to breed and stick.
